Airfoil sections with flow lines

How a Lift Matrix kite goes from equation to water.

Designed in CAD

Every canopy starts as a parametric 3D model. Profiles, cells, bridles and panels are generated from one set of numbers, so a design change flows through the whole kite at once.

Foil vs inflatable

Foil kites fill with air through their cells: light, efficient and made for long hang time. Inflatables carry a leading edge and struts: direct, stable and relaunchable from the water. We build both, from the same design system.

Three airfoils, one system: lift curve profiles

Airfoils that work as a system

Different sections of the kite need different jobs done: high lift in the centre, stability and control at the tips. Each section gets its own airfoil, tuned to work with the others.

04

Polar testing

We compare airfoils on lift, drag, glide ratio and pitching moment before anything is sewn. The numbers decide which shape goes forward.

Golden-ratio geometry

Proportions follow the golden ratio, from the airfoil curve to the mark itself. It is the thread that ties the science to the design.
